Tiger Woods show he's still the best in Golf

In a sudden death overtime win, after 18 holes of playoff today, Tiger Woods completes his 14th major title. Some thoughts:

Rocco Mediate is a terrific spokesman for the game of golf, his poise and charisma were powerful. I hope to see him again in another major, perhaps even a win
Tiger Woods shows again that even when he's injured he is the best golfer on the planet
The game of golf is the big winner, a game of rules that are followed and not cheated, a game where the best is only as good as his or her last outing.

How many online communities, is there a limit?

I'm contemplating joining even more online communities today. I have a couple hours on my last full day of vacation, and really want to reach out to some new communities. Here's the rub though, how many can a person really join and take part in effectively?

I know that real estate agents and REALTORs and professional lenders are spending a lot of time using online communities to increase their inbound links to their blogs and websites, see Active Rain for the best examples.

I also know that some of us are just wired for social interaction, and online is just the ticket.

So here's the ones I've already joined over the last couple years:

Active Rain Real Estate Community - over 30,000 members all involved in real estate, many blogging daily in an effort to tell the stories of their communities on the sister site www.localism.com

Technorati - I probably don't really take advantage of this community, I really only use this site to check out any new in-bound links (authority - 156 right now)

Mybloglog - A whole bunch of bloggers worldwide, who "claim" their blogs and list them on their profile pages. Then they can "join" each others blog communities in essence suggesting that they like that site and watch it regularly. Messaging seems under-utilized and spamming quite heavy in the network.

Twitter - a little newer fangled application that allows you to quickly jot down what you're doing, what you're reading, what your writing, for those that follow your actions. Similar to other sites you can acquire friends and see what they are doing too. An interesting twist allows this application to be used in conjunction with facebook, and probably others too in the future.

Facebook - Ok, now a myspace type community with millions of people, but group memberships to allow those millions to niche themselves by interests. This community seems a bit more professional than myspace. The key is to find the groups for the other communities you are a member of. So, I've joined the active rain group and the twitter group.

LinkedIn - I happened across this one while keeping an eye on the Seattle bloggers. They always seemed to be one step ahead anyway. This site appears on the surface to be all about job searching, but the application does have some strength for allowing one to syncronize and dig into networks to find new connections. I for one think it needs a freshening, and maybe should be sold off to one of the other networks.

Myspace - My least favorite, I really only joined to give myself a link and to check out the site for my sons, who I then told they could "not" join.

Dittytalk - A Christian alternative site to myspace, and it actually allows one to sync with myspace. I allowed my sons to join, and so I joined to once again throw myself a couple links.

I think that's all of them for now. So, what's next?
